All of our properties were destroyed, but thanks be to God for we are still
alive. My wife and I were reunited on Sunday evening when the water receded
and the flood I had to endure is only chest-level. The incident really traumatized
us. Right this time, we are still trying to rebuild out of what were spared.
But we don't have electricity up until this time, and water supply is very
low. Potable water is scarce. Foul odor is everywhere. Everything in the house
is completely messed up.
Today, my wife and I had to report to work despite of the calamity so we
might be able to save a few working days for our payroll, but we're planning
to file leave of absence to rebuild our home. Sad to say, nothings left with
us except for my computer and bike that was left in the office. Of course,
our phone chargers in the house was spared but that was it. I still don't
know exactly how much we can brought up for repair and what are those to be
thrown away. It's just so confusing and is very tiring even just to think
about it. Tons and tons of garbage are being piled everywhere.

Update as of today (October 1, 2009 6:50PM): The National Disaster Coordinating Council said more than half a million families of 2.50 million individuals have been affected by Ondoy in 11 regions, including Metro Manila and the Calabarzon area in southern Luzon.
It said that a total of 686,699 people are now staying in 726 evacuation centers. It said Ondoy’s death toll has reached 277 and 42 were still missing.
The storm, which also devastated Vietnam and Cambodia, damaged crops and infrastructure worth at least P4.80 billion.
