Our Couple Needs Your Donation and Support

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Tropical storm Ondoy that wrecked havoc last Saturday, September 26 had displaced thousands if not millions of Filipinos, claimed hundreds of lives, and destroyed million of pesos worth of properties. In our neighborhood alone, so many people were drowned and a lot more were missing as of this time. It was a life and death situation for me and my pregnant wife who were completely separated with one another for 36 hours due to flood. It almost costed my life had I didn't withdraw from wading into a near six-feet deep flood, or the life of my 4-month pregnant wife if the water level continued to arise that would ultimately trap her inside our house and she would get drowned.

All of our properties were destroyed, but thanks be to God for we are still alive. My wife and I were reunited on Sunday evening when the water receded and the flood I had to endure is only chest-level. The incident really traumatized us. Right this time, we are still trying to rebuild out of what were spared. But we don't have electricity up until this time, and water supply is very low. Potable water is scarce. Foul odor is everywhere. Everything in the house is completely messed up.

Today, my wife and I had to report to work despite of the calamity so we might be able to save a few working days for our payroll, but we're planning to file leave of absence to rebuild our home. Sad to say, nothings left with us except for my computer and bike that was left in the office. Of course, our phone chargers in the house was spared but that was it. I still don't know exactly how much we can brought up for repair and what are those to be thrown away. It's just so confusing and is very tiring even just to think about it. Tons and tons of garbage are being piled everywhere.

For now, I appeal to those who can read this blog entry as well as those who might be able to receive this as email, I and my wife need your support and donation of any amount, or of any kind.
