See How Weather Condition Can Be Fickled These Days

Sunny and cloudy cityscape

Weather condition is so unpredictable these days. When I reported to work this morning, the sky is summer blue with cotton-white clouds. The photo above obviously showed what I've seen this morning when I captured it using my mobile phone camera while driving along EDSA in Quezon City.

Gloomy Manila City Hall
When I passed by Manila City Hall in the afternoon, the skies were already gloomy. I captured the scene behind the wheel while the car was in motion. This is just another phonecam photo.

Rainy Mandaluyong
It was already raining hard when I reached Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong. The rain was accompanied by strong winds. Vehicular traffic was getting heavier due to flooded areas in Mandaluyong.

Sparkling Ortigas Center
It was already dark when I reached Ortigas Center, my final destination. The rain suddenly stopped in a minute before I snap this photo using my phonecam. I think it was the glare in the wet windshield that caused these sparkling tail lights of the vehicles in front of me.

So, how's the weather condition in your area at this time?

Erratic Comment Form

As you might have noticed a few weeks back, I removed the HaloScan comment form and the Typepad Connect form. There used to be three comment form in this website. The first blogging commenting feature that I was using is HaloScan. Way back when Blogger first offer their blogging services, there was no commenting feature yet available. The reason I had to integrate a third party commenting service. That's how HaloScan came to be integrated in my site.

Over the years, I was using multiple comment form when Blogger started their own commenting feature. Blogger commenting feature has already undergone a long way too. At first, there was only a choice of pop-up window or a new whole page that replaces your website in the browser. I didn't like both so even if I already started using Blogger comment form, I didn't discard HaloScan. HaloScan commenting feature looked better and is much easier to use with nice visual interface. It is also embedded in the blog page. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it is using javascript, meaning the comments are virtually embedded in the blog pages but are actually hosted in the HaloScan server. I wanted comments that really would stay with the pages.

Last year, I found out  Blogger is already offering an embedded comment form, and so I activated such feature right away. During the transition period, I was offering Typepad Connect and HaloScan as an alternate comment form.

Last week, I finally had to say good bye to HaloScan and Typepad Connect. I decided I had to stick with Blogger comment form for simplicity. And here the dilemma started. I'd been receiving emails that my comment form is not working. I checked  and tried it myself and found out I can't get through. I didn't notice this before since I hardly replied comments in my own thread (but I read them).

And so, this is another problem I still have to resolve.

My Google Adsense Check Was Stolen!

I almost can't believe it, but it happen. It was already too late for me to be informed that such incident is already very rampant since the beginning of time. A lot of people had already lost their Google Adsense check  more than two years ago.

I doubt that Google would have a bug in their system so I started to think… Did I? Have I? But any way I look at it I know that I’m not mistaken. So I politely told Google that I in fact have not received the check nor cashed it. Luckily they replied that they can send me a scanned copy of the cashed check but it would take about 3 weeks. I followed this up after about 2 weeks and they replied with an attachment.

Some dude stole my check, signed it, and cashed it. Luckily, we could still see the details in the back. It was cashed in East West Bank in Dagupan. (from Binary Thoughts)
The same thing happened to me more than a year ago. A 100-dollar google check in peso denomination never made it to my address. I checked with adsense support and they told me the check has already been cashed. They provided me a scanned statement just like yours, showing that the money was cashed in a Landbank branch in — guess where — DAGUPAN. I don’t think this is just a coincidence. So where’s your post office? Mine is Pasig. (from markku)

To my horror, I realized my Google Adsense passed through Pasig City Post Office.

Google Adsense earning statement

My payment date is February 24 and should have received the check on March. It's the check theft which is the cause my check didn't arrive until this time.

I thought that it was safe for me to choose regular postal mail since the checks are in US Dollars. Depositing and en cashing dollar checks are more difficult than checks in peso, and so I thought it was. I was wrong.

My check issued last Jan. 25, 2007 should arrive this Feb. 20-25, but I haven't received any mail from Google until today. When I checked that status of the check, behold. The check was cleared on Feb. 26, 2007! (from My Adsense Check Has Been Stolen)

Just to give you an idea on how far Benguet is from Quezon City, look at the image above. I haven't been to Benguet but according to Kuya Noli, it's an approx. 8-hour drive.

Google just sent the copy of my stolen check and according to the stamps and computer prints on the check, it was deposited last February 15, 2007 at the La Trinidad, Benguet branch of Allied Bank. (from Stolen Adsense Check Found in Benguet)

my dollar check

The check above was issued to me last May 3 and I couldn't even encash/deposit it until this time since I didn't have a dollar account. I tried depositing it to our company's dollar account but the bank is not accepting second endorsement. Two weeks ago, I went to the dollar grey market in Cubao to sell this check but nobody was accepting it. They only accept check with "Cash" written in behalf of payee's name. If that's the case with me, how on earth these unscrupulous Adsense check thieves could encash the victim's Adsense check? How did they do that?

It's 2am here now. Got to get a bit of sleep...

As for earning Google, I think you need to optimize your site for Google adsense, and make ways to drive massive traffic to your site. Google is offering tutorial on how to do this. You may check it out at http://www.google.com/adsense...

why are you still on Google checks? You should switch to Western Union, it's faster and safer.

Just go to your account settings and change your payment option to Western Union.
